Halcyon Sleep Graduate 🎓

I came across Halcyon sleep on instagram and i'm so relieved I clicked onto Laura’s page. I instantly felt like Laura was relateable, dedicated and well educated from her studies. 
We had been feeding/ rocking our baby boy to sleep which was lovely as a newborn however no longer sustainable for our backs as he approached 9kgs.

We decided to purchase Laura's 5-8 month program and haven't looked back. We picked two weeks where we felt we could commit to the coaching for day & night sleeps - Hamish picked up the skill within a couple of days. Laura, will there be tears?

 

Although my Continued Comfort© and Calming Checks© methods of sleep coaching are very supportive, during this process your baby will most likely respond to the change through crying. Crying is not something we are completely trying to avoid when we go through this process. We want our babies to communicate with us.

They will tell us through crying that they aren’t happy about the change something or they are a bit confused as to why you’re doing something different. However, they know they’re loved and safe. With my sleep shaping & sleep coaching methods in all of my courses, you will be showing your baby that it is ok to fall asleep without rocking, feeding, cuddling, bouncing, driving or whatever other unsustainable 'th-ing' you have been doing day in and day out. You are guiding them through these changes in the context of a secure relationship and loving environment.

Crying at bedtime for 2-4 nights will have no negative impact on your child’s wellbeing, bond with you or ability to form a secure attachment and live a healthy and happy life. In fact, all of my clients and students say their baby (and them!) are all so much happier and baby is far less grumpy because of the amazing sleep they’re all getting.

You can’t fault Laura’s knowledge or honesty. I had been researching ways to wean my 9 1/2month old off nursing to sleep as I felt he was depending on me solely for sleep. I came across Halcyon Sleep on Instagram and then on to Laura’s blog. Her explanation that independent sleep was a skill rather than my downfall put me at ease. I knew straight away I’d found the answer.

I purchased the 9-12 months sleep guide and within a week my little dude had bed time nailed.  What was initially a terrifying thought has now been made so much easier.
